Alliance
for Children, Quito, Ecuador - http://www.afcfoundation.org/
The Ecuadorian government provides very little for the care of orphans.
Therefore, abandoned children need to rely on the kindness and generosity
of private organizations and individuals to avoid becoming street
children. The Alliance for Children Foundation has helped support
the operation of three orphanages in Quito and Cuenca, which provide
a critical support system to abandoned children.
Presently, families are funding a program that has as its objective
providing for the very basic needs of children to ensure that they
are receiving adequate nutrition (infant formula and vitamins) and
are able to have suitable clothing and bedding. This program has
had dramatic results with greatly improved health for the children.
